Cllr Jessie Jagger encourages families to discover The Commandery’s hidden gem for under 4s

Cllr Jessie Jagger is encouraging families to visit The Commandery’s “Pikelets: Tots Through Time” sessions this summer, describing them as one of Worcester’s best-value mornings out for babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

Held every Wednesday from 10.15am to 11.30am, the sessions cost just £5 per child (£2.50 for additional siblings) and can be booked online or paid for on the door.

Children enjoy a different mix of crafts, sensory activities and imaginative play each week in The Commandery’s museum and beautiful gardens. Families can also relax afterwards at Little Al’s Café, while attendees receive a 50% discount on museum admission.

The Commandery is within easy walking distance of Commandery Road, Croft Road, King Street and St Martin’s Gate car parks.

“As a mum, I think parents of my generation put a huge amount of pressure on themselves to create perfect sensory activities at home. By the time you’ve researched them, bought everything, set them up and cleared away afterwards, you’ve often spent hours and quite a bit of money for something that lasts a few minutes.

That’s why I love Pikelets. For just £5, all the planning has been done for you. There are lots of activities, plenty of other children to play with and, if your little one isn’t interested in one thing, there’s always something else to explore. It’s relaxed, there’s no pressure and everyone helps tidy up at the end.

It’s also a brilliant way to introduce children to one of Worcester’s most important heritage sites. I’d encourage any mum, dad, grandparent or carer looking for an affordable morning out to give it a try and support this fantastic local attraction.”

Pikelets: Tots Through Time runs throughout the summer holidays and term time and is designed for children from crawlers to pre-school age.
