Cllr Karen Holmes elected as Worcester Deputy Mayor
The Worcester Liberal Democrats have congratulated Councillor Karen Holmes following her election as Deputy Mayor of Worcester for the 2026–2027 municipal year.
Cllr Holmes, who has represented residents with dedication and commitment, was formally elected to the role at Worcester City Council’s annual meeting. She will support the Mayor in representing the city at civic events and community engagements throughout the coming year.
Members of the Worcester Liberal Democrats praised Cllr Holmes for her longstanding service to local residents and the wider community.
Fellow Liberal Democrat councillor Mel Allcott also praised Cllr Holmes following the announcement, describing her as hardworking and “one of the kindest people I know.”
Cllr Holmes’ appointment has been warmly welcomed by colleagues, residents and community organisations across Worcester, with many recognising her years of service and commitment to local causes.
She is expected to take part in a wide range of civic duties over the next year, supporting charities, local organisations and events throughout the city.
