KARENS BLOG: Last Chance for Worcester Community Groups to Apply for Support Fund
Community groups and charities in Worcester who support vulnerable households are being reminded that there is just one day left to apply for grant funding from the Household Support Fund.
Worcester City Council has allocated £40,000 for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. In previous years, this funding has helped residents facing crisis by covering essentials such as food, energy and water bills, furniture, clothing and other vital household items.
With winter pressures rising and Christmas fast approaching, this support can make a real difference to families struggling to make ends meet.
Who can apply?
Charities
Community Interest Companies (CICs)
Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs)
Groups can apply for up to £5,000 for a specific project that directly supports vulnerable households in Worcester. Funding cannot be used for general running costs, and all grant money must be spent by 31 March 2026.
Deadline: The application window closes tomorrow at midnight (Friday 12 December).
Councillor Karen Holmes, who serves on Worcester City Council’s Communities Committee, said:
“Our voluntary and community groups do extraordinary work supporting people who are really struggling, especially at this time of year. This fund is there to help them reach even more households in need, so I’d really encourage organisations to get their applications in before the deadline. Even a small grant can make a big difference to a family in crisis.”
